Happy Hump Day!!!! Happy National Teacher's Day! Happy Nurses's Week! Happy Bike or Walk to School Day! Jake, unfortunately is celebrating the last one as the Altima was not wanting to start this morning. Luckily it is a beautiful day and we live about a 1/4 mile from where he goes to school and why do they have to drive to school anyway??? Walk and get some exercise! Anyway, hubby is going to look at it at lunch and hopefully it is a quick and cheap fix. Key word here is cheap.
I need some help. I need a new goal to work on. I have scratched 2 major things off my bucket list in 6 months, graduating from college, and completing a half marathon. What is next??? I love yoga and thought about getting more into that, perhaps an instructor, but I'm not sure. I do not want to go back to school, so don't even suggest I get my Masters. I was offered a scholarship and said no. Maybe in a few years, but doubtful. 2 1/2 years of straight school is enough for me. So, got any ideas? I am not looking at travel things. More of something to improve myself. Think on it and give me some ideas, please.
Tip of the Day: The other day I saw one of those e-cards and it said something to the effect of I do not need diet tips from a skinny girl, thank you very much. I know these are supposed to be funny, but I got to thinking? Why not? Obviously a skinny or as I like to say, fit girl, knows what to do. When I was struggling with Statistics I asked the Professor or the A student for help. I was not going to ask the D or F student because they obviously have not figured it out either. Before I did the half marathon, I asked my running friends for advice, so why not ask your fit friends for advice on eating habits and exercise habits? Most of us do have some good advice to share instead of I just eat whatever I want and never gain weight. Now granted, I am kinda that person, but I do not overeat and I have always exercised on a regular basis, so there is some thinking that goes into what I do.
I have my first cheer mom meeting today. Should be interesting. The girls are getting fitted for their uniforms and Ellie is so excited as am I. I love when my kids accomplish things they have worked so hard to achieve. After, Ellie has tumbling and she is dying to let her coach know she made the cheer team. They have all worked so patiently with her and will be just as happy as we are to know she made it. She goes to CCU in Little Rock and they are truly awesome. Give it a try. They have competitive cheer teams, but she just does the tumbling classes. I will say, my hubby is really getting into all this. He has two boys, so Ellie is a whole new, and I will say, wonderful experience for him. It has been so fun watching them bond together and watch Mark be a "girl dad". Yes, I know Ellie's dad is Steve, good gosh I was there and do not need to be reminded, and he is a good dad, but Ellie also has Mark who has been a very significant part of her life for the last 3 years so I am not going to demean his role by some stupid title. I feel the same way about my kid's step mom. If you have an issue with it, it has to do with yourself and your insecurities. Get over yourself and let your children have a relationship with that person and who cares if they call the other mom or dad. I am thankful my kids have another supportive adult in their life who has love and accepted them as their own. Anyway, hubby took her to cheer tryouts because I was out of town and they had so much fun talking about all the girls trying out and the different styles of the girls. I love watching them together.
Have a beautiful Wednesday my friends!!! You deserve it.
Hugs!
