Happy Tuesday! I am still super sore from Sunday, but managed 5 laps with my Women Run Arkansas peeps last night, and I think I pushed it too much. Definitely a rest day today. I have met some wonderful women through this program. This is our last week and we have the 5K graduation on Saturday in Conway. I saw the medal and it is Awesome!!! It even has a butterfly on it. I am not saying they did that for me especially, but it is a strange coincidence. I am excited to see these women accomplish the goals they have worked so hard for. I have enjoyed being co director and loved being a Walker leader. I can hardly wait until next year. Now, after Memorial Day weekend, we will still be meeting at War Memorial on Mondays and possibly Thursdays from 6-7 for continued exercise, so come and join us! No need to sign up, just bring yourself and water...it is getting warm outside (wee!!!!) so you want to keep hydrated.
We had great news all over the Francis/Bosch house in the last 2 days. Rader, the youngest stepson, is now a certified lifeguard! He will be overseeing my friends and our kids and all our activities. Hmmm...maybe this was not the best choice on my part....just kidding. I am excited for him to start. We also found out that Ellie made the Horace Mann cheer leading squad!!! She did not make it last year and has worked really hard over the last year to improve her tumbling and it paid off. Now I am an official cheer mom...Lord help us all! Ellie was also invited to join the Beta Club for next year. Smart and beautiful...she has it all. I am so blessed that I have great students. Everyone is pretty much an A student and only need a little bit of pushing in the academic part of their lives. No matter how smart your kids are, you still need to be involved and make sure they are making right choices. Sometimes they can forget to prioritize and become overwhelmed so make sure you are checking in with them on a regular basis so they do not get behind. Most kids do not like to ask for help until they are way behind and then it is a struggle to get them back on track. We are always parents. Just because they become more independent does not need we need to forget about them. Keep attending their games, their ceremonies, and talk to them about homework, grades, colleges, etc. They still need us despite what they tell us.
Tip of the day: get a massage. Hubby gave me the absolute best massage last night on my feet and legs trying to work out the soreness. It felt amazing! I am still sore, but I feel my flexibility coming back. Now, you may not have someone who has talented and strong hands like my husband does, so treat yourself. I always get hubby a massage for Valentine's Day because I am not strong enough to get into the deep muscle tissue on his legs. He has massive calf muscles from all the years playing soccer...mmmm. Anyway, it feels good and is not that pricey. I have a great friend, sister really, who is a massage therapist and if you need her info let me know!
Have a fabulous Tuesday and get some rest if you need it. I most certainly am. Again, thankful for my desk job.
Hugs!
